Mission

Community

Community is central to everything we want to do at All Saints – discovering community, growing and developing community and, where needed, starting community.  Therefore, our Mission Statement is:

To be a blessing to our Community by weaving
the stuff of life with the story of God.

A fine-sounding statement but what does it actually mean to those of you who live in Weston Green, to those who attend our church – whether it be regularly on a Sunday morning or occasionally during the week at an event in the hall – or maybe you’ve never set foot in All Saints?

Put simply, we want to respond to the needs of our community by providing loving service. How? By being involved in things like the Lower Green Food Bank, by providing space for mums and toddlers at our Monday morning Fun Saints or at our monthly toddler praise service, SmAll Saints.  By providing time and a safe space for the young people in our parish to meet and ask the big questions that effect their future and to provide the same to those of us who are bit older. These are just a few of the things we do or plan to do but we want to do more. We want to meet you where you are not just expect you to come to us, we want to engage with those around us to find out what it is we can do to serve you.

In order to help us do this the Vicar, Phillip, and I will be walking around your community over the coming months. If you see us please stop us, tell us what’s going on in your neighbourhood and how perhaps we can help or just have a chat with us. In between the chats, we will be praying for those who live in the streets we are walking. If you go to our events calendar, you can find details of our walks so please do look out for us. Although we will be doing this because we firmly believe this is what God is calling us to do, we won’t be looking to ram Jesus down your throats. If you don’t want to talk about religious stuff then that’s fine – Phillip and I will talk about just about anything. However, if you do want to ask questions about faith, spirituality or any of that sort of stuff then that is fine too; the agenda is yours.
