Christians have always met together – from the earliest beginnings of the church, members of the community of faith have gathered in both small and large groups in many different settings.
A Safe Place
In our small groups it is our aim to provide a safe place where we can discuss our faith/spirituality wherever we are on our journey with Christ. A place where we will be listened to and not judged, loved without conditions and, above all, whether we are reading and discussing the Bible, praying together or sharing a meal, fellowship is at the centre of all that we do.
We currently have five groups that meet – two on a weekday evening, one on a Thursday morning, a prayer group that meets twice a month on a Friday and a youth group that meets on a Sunday early evening. Over the last year we have covered a whole range of topics from Who is Jesus? to Why is there suffering in the world?
These comments from two of our members sum up what small groups should be about.
“I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much”
“Fantastic evening! – we are building up such strong shared experiences and understanding”
